Question about Rory's stratocaster

Postby JimLED » 03 Jul 2019, 19:37

Good day! At this moment I think to change the frets on my stratocaster on the frets of steel. Guitarists, what do you say? And yes, what material of the frets on Rory Stratocaster made of?

I am not a big fan of SS frets, Rory for sure didn't use SS frets. They were nickel silver. Use Jescar fret wire, the Fender CS is using Jescar lately and I love them.

I’m sure he used traditional German Silver frets found on most guitars. I had heard he used wire that was larger than vintage. I like the 6105 sized frets on my Strats as its unasked to bend strings and they last longer.

There is a new fret material I use on many of my guitars called EVO Gold. They are smoother feeling and last much longer than traditional frets.
