Who's that calling way out there? I've got your signal loud and clear

I can't help but feel like I've bought this before,
It's got extra content, they found in the vault,
That there's always some left can be nobody's fault,
Some folks may complain, but it's not fair to bash,
The honourable trade of remasters, rehash.

The sound it gets better with every release,
Negating the need for my ancient CDs,
I guess Rory never would consider ample,
Anything less than 16 bits per sample,
Now Irish Tour vinyl lies dusty on shelves,
Even the re-release from two thousand and twelve.

It's hard to keep track of which ones I should play,
Because my collection grows bigger each day,
Cardboard sleeves, plastic sleeves, various covers,
Extra tracks, remixes, much to discover,
I love them all equal, not one will I shirk,
Even the version from "Let's Go To Work"

I guess memories must move on with the times,
Like a best-of disguised as an album of crime,
But with each new remaster I really do wonder,
How Rory made so many audio blunders,
But bottom line buying this set was my choice,
Now I wonder if next time they'll fix Rory's voice.

That's nothing short of amazing.

Last night I had ordered Irish Tour from Amazon. Amazon says that delivery estimate: November 3 - November 7. I understood that, but why money still present on my Card?
I'm a new member of Amazon, explain me please.

I used to work for them- they don't actually charge the card 'till it ships. 'Till it's in a box with your name and going on a truck---

Maybeiwill, I´m as always very proud of my thread. It starts with a new Rory release and ends up in a mega flu. You never know what happens! :D I´m glad your flu is over. I was back at work today.

Amazon took the money out of my account on Sunday, so it must be winging its way to Tyneside as we speak.
Happy days.

Irish Tour 74 Box Set

Postby Stevo » 23 Oct 2014, 09:50

At last, it's arrived. Just opened it and put the 1st cd in.

The box is 9 1/2 inches square, and about 1 inch thick. The insert pulls out and unfolds to show all 8 discs. The packaging is very nice, with photos of each venue holding the discs into place.

The 16 page booklet is full of pictures, text by Donal and an interview with engineer Robin Sylvester.

Just changed the discs and put disc 3 (Dublin) on. The sound quality isn't as good as Cork (vocals starting to distort slightly), but Rory and the guys still sound amazing. So full of energy.

Huge thank you to Donal and Daniel.

Will post again when I've listened to more.
