Robin Williams was one of my favorite actors and comedians. His antics could always make me laugh, and he was one of those quirky geniuses who was extraordinarily kind and sensitive to the less fortunate. When actor Christopher Reeve was paralyzed in a riding accident and his health insurance ran out, Robin Williams paid for all his medical care because they were friends from college. Led blood drives for the injured after the towers fell in 911, did countless charity shows. But he was also fluent in French and Russian. He learned to speak Russian while on the set of his movie Moscow on the Hudson, and became fluent in the language, and afterwards would converse with Russian fans whenever the opportunity arose.
