i agree with you about red special. to me that's the most iconic instrument ever! rory's strat is 2nd and macca's hofner bass 3rd.

I refer you gentlemen to the post I made some time ago. A guitar burned by HENDRIX and used by ZAPPA on 'zoot allures' is similar in iconographic terms to Rory's strat. And some way ahead of Brian May's guitar .
So revered was it, that Zappa used to mount it on stage for the audience to look at rather than play it.

The (a) real burnt Hendrix guitar, but various mods courtesy of Dweezil and Frank - both tried to get it to work properly in several forms - complicated history too.
And is that a bo diddley guit?

A complicated story that i will investigate right now, nothing like a complicated story about guitars....

It is indeed a Bo Diddley guitar...

A few years ago Bo Diddley collapsed on stage and was rushed to the hospital. When he woke up the first thing he said was: -'Where's my guitar?' and '-Did we get payed?'
