Thanks Jay Jay, that was excellent. I have a new respect for Slash. Too bad so many others don't step up to the plate and pull for Rory.
Bob Dylan for one.

Thank you Cynthia for the full low down. A thorned switch - how sadistic is that? Sounds to me like a very traumatic incident. the devil's music - I can't imagine going to school in an environment that would consider music - any type of music, connnected to the devil. That is almost beyond my comprehension. I grew up listening to rock music.

Primetime BBC coverage. It's all good.

My text to Susie. Sorry I don't like writing the same thing again and again. "It was a good programme last night on The One Show. It was a short segment on Rory but it was good. Slash was interviewed and Donal appeared with Rory's beloved Strat. Donal did not give an interview. Slash has dedicated his album Avalon to Rory or it was inspired by Rory. Well at least millions of people saw Rory last night just before the Eastenders and it was before the watershed". Subrata.x

I don't know. Not to throw a wet blanket on all the praise for Slash being Rory's champion, but I recall looking through Slash's Autobiography at a book store, and he goes in depth about his guitar influences, and there was not one word about Rory. Same with another very long profile in a guitar magazine, which I cant recall the name of right now, again on his influences, no mention of Rory. I don't doubt he was a fan, maybe its more "hip" to mention Rory now. He didn't seem overly awed holding the Strat, least that is my impression. Maybe I'm just being too crotchety. Anyway..........

got to say I grew up a G n' R fan - they were my fave band as a teenager and Slash never mentioned Rory - if he had, then I would have known of Rory a couple of decades ago! Agree, Slash didn't seem that fazed with Rory's guitar. He sort of looked at it, thought about playing it, then put it down.
