I have heard this you tube clip before and I was thinking wow Rory liked reggae. I know Eric Clapton did. I think Rory liked many different styles of music. This was in 1991? I would have really like to have asked him how he liked the music of the 90s and The Millennium and up to 2014. I think he like the 90s decade and felt like a lot of artist from 60s and 70s that music was cool again in the 90s. Eric Clapton and Lu Lu mentioned this. I still keep up with most of the current music now and I am really enjoying it at present. Subrata.x

Judging by his selections on his bookshelves we can see that Rory was well read. But listening to him play, he often would toss little bits and pieces of other artist's work into his live performances.

I would be curious to see what his personal record collection consisted of, because he had so many of these references in his live performances. That would be another chapter in a book. What sort of music does a musical genius listen to when he wants to relax and recharge?

That Paris show is one of my favorites, I'd love to have a high quality DVD of that entire concert.

I love both but particularly Bad Penny. I wonder how much of that was scripted. Thanks for sharing all of it.

  8-) I know the answer to that one! Any of us who got to see Rory play back in the day, really see him, in the same room with him, can tell you- NONE of it was scripted. he never did the same song quite the same way twice. He had his muse, and it took him, and he took us all along for the duration.

That performance is a fraction of the energy, spirit and sheer beauty of his magic with the guitar. In the clip he's good, but it's one of those things where we who got to see him, ultimately have to say, you had to be there to really feel it.

Glad to have been there for some of that magic.
