It looks like tomorrow will be The Beatles and Guns N Roses.

Final day and Joe picked While My Guitar - the Beatles and Paradise City - Guns n Roses.
Very disappointed.

If he was such a big fan, he should have picked Rory. He knows Rory doesn't get airplay on day time national radio - it would have been a great opportunity. Might even have turned some new people onto Rory. all it took with me was a one time chance viewing of rory and I was hooked.

As soon as I saw Bonamassa playing Rory Gallagher's iconic '61 Strat, I did not like it one bit. Blasphemy !! Gonna mess up the patina and the tone.

agreed. Only the gallagher family should hold and play that guitar.

I'm just disappointed. Joe had a great platform to show off Rory's music, but instead he chose some very mediocre tunes just so he could tell some story about meeting or jamming with them.
He could of easily picked a Rory tune, or a Gary Moore tune (who he tries to sound like), or even an Eric Johnson tune (who he use to rip off), but no, not Joe.
I was glad to hear BB King and Jimi Hendrix, but some of his other choices left a lot to be desired.
As for Rory's Strat, for some players it's an honour to play it, but for others, it's just a photo opportunity.

Yep, a BTO song but not one from Rory just makes no sense to me at all...very odd.

IMO, I would guess the reason it is allowed to be played at all like that, is because it sang through Rory when he was alive, it was and is Rory's guitar, forged into its present state by his blood, sweat and tears. And when it is played, especially in front of an audience, it is almost like it tries to sing for him again. But it can only do it for a player of that caliber, and there is no one who can play it like Rory did. So, for me, it is a bittersweet feeling to see someone else play it. Each time someone other than the family pick it up and play it, especially if it is not handled respectfully by the family, friends and fans who love him, it loses some of what he left with it. In My Opinion.

I think we all miss him, and want to hear him one more time, and that Strat is the closest thing to him from those days. Not just for the fans, his family likely yearn to hear him one more time.
