Stiff Little Fingers and Rory

Owing to the fact that I am one of the old people on this site (not forum membership-wise, in that respect I am a relative newbie) but more for the music I grew up on, 50s-60s-70s stuff mostly, and the fact that were it not for my daughter I would be utterly clueless about anything past 1995 or so.

I came across this one, featuring Rory as guest guitarist-



I'm not saying the Dead Weather is copying their sound, I'm just (once again) struck by the similarity of Rory's guitar sound with Jack White's style- seems the influence is unmistakable.



Don't know if it has been mentioned specifically on the forum before, but I listened to Human Shield for the first time the other day, and immediately thought it bore a striking similarity to the Dead Weather's sound (Jack White, again). The Dead Weather came some years later.

So true to form, Rory was ahead of the curve again.
