Just played this youtube clip which made me think to add this topic here

Rory would certainly appreciate this Elvis Christmas Song. With Elvis playing live and with his guitar too :)

Yeah, it's old, and corny, but I love the intro to this, and it's so 1950s Christmas! (for those who remember). I can't imagine Rory playing this, except for fun maybe, but I bet he listened to it on the radio back then :)

And fast forward to last Christmas, I like this one. The Roots, backstage with Jimmy Fallon, on schoolroom instruments, with their kids and having a little Christmas fun. For Rory, All I Want for Christmas Is You,

Rory was known to be a bit of a fan of Bruce Spingsteen. I bet he liked this song of his @ Christmas time :)

This one- because it suits the season ( and I bet he had occasion to have sung it a few times at this time of year)

My favourite Christmas song is either 'stop the calvary' by Jona lewie.. or Bert Jansch's version of 'in the bleak mid winter'.

Does anyone know if rory ever did a Christmas song during one of his annual irish Christmas gigs? ?

I wondered that as well, whether Rory ever did any Christmas songs at any of his seasonal shows. I know he did a lot of Chuck Berry-

And another from the '50s-

I always wondered what Rory thought of John Fahey's playing. Fahey was pretty eccentric, but I like a lot of his stuff-
