Yes for sure.. and after all.. Rory was born a Ballyshannon boy / Donegal dude :D
Besides Rory was not shy to be seen wearing a sports type top like that at times too :)

As here below in Madrid '75

Rock On for Rory
Slainte, Jay Jay

PS. It gets freezing cold up there in the North West of Ireland in wintertime. So Rory could do with another shirt on :)

He's in Madrid, but he's wearing a University of California, Santa Barbara team shirt there. And I've seen some where he wears Notre Dame's Fighting Irish team shirt. Gifts from fans maybe?

 But dressing him up in rival team shirts in Ireland might stir up things with the more emotional, less intellectually endowed sports fans. :o And Rory isn't around to make the choice for himself.

Long as no one actually damages the statue to make a point, I guess. . . .

I don't like it at all, sorry. It looks disrespectful.

I don't much care for it either, I'm afraid it will lead to the statue being damaged or vandalized if it keeps up. I suppose if it's only a once-in-a-while thing, it's no harm done. And Rory had a pretty good sense of humor anyway. But still . . .

Surely it would have been more authentic had it been a check shirt or a denim jacket.A small village near us on the outskirts of Rugby (which obviously has it's
own history!)has a statue (somebody famous ,can't remember who)in the centre of the village (close to Guy Fawkes cottages) every year the statue is dressed
up overnight as somebody topical e.g Harry Potter,Ghost Busters, Postman Pat etc ,for the Christmas period only, then after the holiday the clothing will
disappear just as it was put on the statue.Everybody in the village looks forward to this happening and as the statue is by a main road between my Town
and Rugby ,passing motorists will see it too.Nobody ever knows who does it ,all part of the mystery!

We have a bronze statue of Ken Kesey in downtown Eugene. He sits on a park bench reading to a couple of bronze kids. Every so often someone puts a fake joint in his hand. :D
