would he ?

Postby biker » 30 Dec 2012, 01:31

When I listen to music I always imagine another musician playing the same choon in a different way, just my way of appreciating what I like. I really like Mick Flannery's "In the Gutter", and think Rory would have put a great blues aspect to it....anyone else here as imaginative as me, can you pick out a piece of music you would have loved to hear Rory play ? Sinnerman by Nina Simone is another choon I think Rory would have classed up.................................

Hi biker and welcome to Rory's LT Forum.
To answer your topic question .. Yes of course Rory would..
He did it all throughout his career. Early days Chuck Berry and Muddy Waters and later days this

This Rory tune is a fine example of an old R&B tune Rory rocked up :)

I would have liked to have seen Rory do Son House's Death Letter-

I know he would have been mesmerizing.

Probably a close approximation but Rory would do it so much better!

Both good choices, especially Death Letter. I need to think about this one, a glass or two raised to Rory tonight may help!

Happy New Year to everyone :)

Well, this is relatively new as compared to the others- I would love to see Rory do this one-

In fact one could almost fantasize him doing this one . . . well, I could, anyway.

I was listening to some older stuff, and I thought about this thread. This song was a hit by Johnny Cash, it was written by June Carter Cash before they were married- when they were thinking about things, and Johnny recorded it- It's a different style than Rory used to do but I wonder how he would have handled this one? Rory could really put his heart into his music, and this one has passion.

and this one, written by Tom Petty about his troubles with the music industry-
