Yes! Their unique sound, and the beginning of Rory's solo career.

Taste are thought of by someone else besides me, as in the top 25 ever best " Blues / Rock bands"

I wouldn't quibble with the list but Rory should be higher than a bunch of those guys, especially Jack White.

Such a shame Taste broke up...:( All three were fantastic musicians who performed well together.

well if they didn't break up we wouldn't have all that great solo rory stuff. maybe we would get some of them but they would sound different. and i always prefer rory solo over taste.
I watched as fear took the old men's gaze
Hopes of the young in troubled graves
'I see no day' I heard him say
So grey is the face of every mortal

IMO the songs would have remained the same with Taste or Rory solo. The sound would not have been much different either.
Rory formed Taste and The Rory Gallagher Band, wrote all the songs and was always the band leader. All throughout his 28 to 29 years with The RG Band and Taste MK1 & MK2. He knew just the songs & sounds he wanted from " his band " that's why he binned NFSF ;)

That's why Brian May wanted to know how he got his unique guitar tone also :)
