Every photo I've seen that depicts the streets shows them to be so much more narrow than ours here, and your photos are no exception. Looks like it's best to either walk or bike through most of the areas to truly take it all in. Well, for decades automobiles have dominated the cityscapes here.

I noticed the photos and posters in Ziggy's Bar, and yes indeed the owner seems to be a huge Rory fan. One of the framed photos he has up over the bar is quite similar to one I have over my computer. Actually, it would be identical except it looks like he had the photo enlarged to frame it. It is the cover of Rory's 45rpm single of Wayward Child. I found a copy a while back, a clear vinyl 45rpm single with Wayward Child on one side, and Keychain on the other. It's too special for me to ever play it, so I framed it, the little record is within the jacket, so it can't be seen, but the jacket cover is framed, in blue block letters it says Rory Gallagher, then below it shows Rory and the Strat, leaning forward toward his fans, and you can see their outstretched hands reaching for him.

I can see the framed photo just above my computer, and when I saw the photo of Ziggy's, I see the same thing!

And you're correct, Dervish is just the sort of store where I would tend to spend time looking around, and probably buying. The nearest town to where I live, Eugene, Oregon, has many stores like that scattered throughout the University District.

I look forward to seeing these places. Now I just need to be focused and organized, and make it happen. That is going to be the hardest part. :)

Hi Cynthia, Rory will help you organize your trip to Ireland. I see the photo you mean. Oh yes the landlord of Ziggys Bar well he is a HUGE Rory fan thats obvious. Yes the streets in the small towns of Ireland are narrow and not really built for cars. They must be hundreds of years old. However there are quite a few cars on the road and Susie and I realised the Irish love silver cars. They are racy drivers. In London the streets are also narrow and in central London well its like a maze of streets. Again these roads were built for horse and carriage hundreds of years ago. I do drive in London but prefer to avoid it. It is chaotic. It is congested and chaotic. The underground tube in London is heavily packed as well but it is easier to get around in London by tube and rail. With the introduction of the congestion charge in London there is slightly less traffic now. However on the London Underground I keep hearing our Mayor voice everywhere and this time I think announcing the Tour De France Bicycle Race. Subrata. x

The Dervish Store just one word....magical.

I will post the gig photos in the next few days. I have been ill the last few weeks from some virus. I am getting better now. Subrata. x

Susie and I are awaiting instructions from Rory how to plan our Rory trip next year as it will the 20th anniversary.
