Good morning Jim,

Happy to hear that you are listening to vinyl......it`s my favorite !
Last night I listened to Gov`t Mule`s 2009 double vinyl By A Thread, after getting the update for this years Warren Haynes` Christmas Jam(My son and I are planning to go):

http://www.xmasjam.com/2010/

This morning as I wait on it to warm up and the fog to burn off.....so I can go outside and work, I am listening to Joe Bonamassa`s 2006 vinyl called You and Me. I am listening to this as I watch my fellow Pennsylvanians rescue the miners in Chili. We know alot about deep mines around here. The first woman to ever die in a deep mine was only about 20 miles from here. I hope they all get out in the best of health.

I am playing my vinyls on a Technics turntable(quartz direct drive SL-QD22), through a Pioneer equalizer(CR-408), through a Pioneer receiver(VSX-D308), through Bose 501 speakers. My equiptment is now about 15 years old, and you`re making me think about ordering a new stylus or two for the holidays.

Hi Rick!

I play now german Irish Tour double LP... but.. the sound... mmm.. how to say...has no much higher frequences and smooth a little.
But others like Against The Grain, Photofinish or Top Priority sounds very warm and brightly.

Your IT is sounds great?

I didn't want to lift up down catridge...

This Morning I was listening to two new 45 rpms that came in the mail yesterday.

Fraternity Of Man.......Don`t Bogart Me/Wispy Paisley Skies......1968
This is the song from Easy Rider.
This is a band that Richie Hayward was in before co/founding Little Feat.
Most people know this song as: Don`t Bogart That Joint My Friend........
It was done alot by Feat over the years.
It was often attached to Lowell George`s song Willin`.
The two worked well together..........still missin` Richie..............

Little Milton.........Sometimey/We Got The Winning Hand.........1966
Warren Haynes got me into Little Milton.
They played together alot leading up to LM`s death.
He`s one of the big reasons why Warren is putting out this new soul CD and playing with this new band.

just an lp guy, livin` in a CD world..............R.K.

Hi Jim,

Creedence Clearwater Revival is some great music ! Their first few albums they put out were amoung the earliest album buying that I did at around 12 years old, when I realized how much more music I`d get if I started buying the full size vinyl albums instead of the 45s. Creedence was releasing about 4 45s for every album, you could get the album cheaper than 4 45s. That how it all began for me.

I love Chamilion too.

I`m listening to some funk tonight. first a vinyl:

Johnny Guitar Watson/Funk Beyond The Call Of Duty/1977
this is nothing special but holds memories of a certain point in time for me in 1978, when this was better than disco !
at some points it`s close to disco, but not quite.
