What ever happened to music from Ireland ?

With all the great albums, bands and music to come out of Ireland e.g Them,Van Morrison ,the original Skid Row,Gary Moore,Thin Lizzy,Eamonn MacCormack U2
The Dubliners and obviously most importantly Taste and Rory , i have often wondered what went wrong with Boyzone and Westlife, absolute rubbish which just don't fit
in with this great musical heritage. Will have to be content with any new R.G .stuff which may yet be discovered.

For any kid growing up in the 90s, the Irish LImerick rock band Cranberries will always be remembered. I really liked them and I remember their songs Dreams, Linger, Zombie being played continuously on the radio. Will they continue without Dolores I don't know.
Dolores O Riordan wrote Dreams and Linger. She was an amazing front woman for the rock band and her Irish singing voice was just so beautiful and unique. She was an extraordinary talented singer and song writer and I always felt the band were very down to earth and level headed. The Zombie was in tribute to the Warrington IRA bombing victims in 1992.
I do remember Dolores wedding day in the papers in 1994 and she was a very devoted mother. I know she battled through mental health issues, but it did seem that she was turning a corner in 2017. The cause of her death is sill not known but 46 is too young to die. May she RIP. My condolences to have family, friends , fellow musicians and fans.
Whenever I listen to the Cransberries, it takes me back to a simple time of my youth in the 90s..something I will never forget.
Thankyou Dolores and Cransberries for the music and Dolores you will live on in your amazing songs forever. You will linger. RIP peace sweet Irish angel. You will always be the Queen of Limerick. Subrata. x
