there is a legend about the etymology of Finnish word "kippis" (cheers). Lotta Finns moved to America and
Canada in the 19th century and they worked also as lumberjacks. On Saturdays they went to local bars and
their English was not very good, but if they were in trouble with the locals, they said "keep peace" and the word "kippis" comes from there...legend or true, dunno.

Anyway,
kippis and a happy New Year

PS. Jim, lately my guitar has merely been dusting...I should practise more, lazy me...

wow, I just saw 15 guests, no one posting (but me, old ghost from the past)...some of you may remember "the lurker zone" on old TMP....suddenly, it came the most popular thread on forum....unfortunately, same phenomenon is seen on RW...few members posting, others lurking....not good for Rory ...

I'm always looking to see what's new, and lots of times I feel kinda bad about posting- like I'm monopolizing the board. It can be kinda scary to post- you never know when someone might get upset or offended at something- but I'm willing to take the chance if others will keep posting- there's always something new out there- new insights, or memories, or ideas to share about Rory. And it's so encouraging to know he touched so many people from all over the world- this little community covers a lot of the planet 8-)

It would be nice to hear from some of the many who never post-

Interesting for fans is the french rorygallagher.forumactif.net. They have tons of photos and interesting threads like: Rory Gallagher's t-shirts; fans with Rory-tattoos.
Because I`m not so good in the french language I use an online-translator if I can`t understand the threads ;)
