I`ll tell them, when I see them in N.Y.C., that you want them back Jukka !

When my son and I were at N.Y.C, for the Rory Tribute and CD release party, I gave John(roryfan) a Mule show from 2008.
It has the Davy Knowles and Back Door Slam opener and the 2 Mule sets and enchore with Davy.

John just sent me a MULE show from 6/11/96. It was a Lawrence Kansas show.

Here`s a WHOLE PAGE of videos from the show:

AND here they are doin` one of their more favorite audience participating songs(Don`t Step On The Grass Sam):

Thanks Again John !

Hi Rick
Where you from? I am from Asheville, NC, Warren's hometown, in fact his brother Brian is a very good friend of mine, as is Jeff Anders who co wrote "Man In Motion" on Warren latest album. Jeff also co wrote a couple other tunes that have showed up on Gov't Mule and Allman Brothers albums. I grew up watching Warren playing in the local clubs, I used to watch him in a band called Riccochet back in the 70's just prior to him hooking up with David Allan Coe. God I must've seen Warren every weekend for years. He was a monster player even in his late teens and early 20's. He was not the lead vocalist in Riccochet if you can believe that, but did sing lead on a few cuts, like Can't You See by Marshall Tucker, and Needle and The Spoon by Skynyrd. He was a great vocalist back then also.
You got it exactly right about Warren being a nice guy, I know him somewhat, I am a musician also, but he was a couple years older than me, and way ahead of me and everyone else for that matter in musicianship. But he was such a nice guy even back in the club days, by taking time out and talking to us younger guys, and letting us pick his brains. Even after his successs with Gov't Mule and The Allman Brothers when he comes back home for the X-Mas Jams, even though his time is very much in demand, he will give you all the time he can. I couldn't begin to tell people how nice this guy is.

Hey there Mike,

If you know Warren, then you probably know Mike Barnes too ? I`ve been to Christmas Jam 3 times(`05, `06, `10).
Love the man, the event and your town !!! Great place to get away and park the vehicle and walk around and take in all the music, food, night life. I took my son with me last year and we had the hotel room next to Allen Woody`s father(Doug). I had thought about returning this year, BUT am meeting my brother in N.Y.C. for two nights of MULE for MULE YEAR~S EVE instead. I always love getting pizza and hoagies and beer at the Mellow Mushroom. I`ve seen Warren more than any other musician, and Mule more than any other band.

I met a fellow Asheville resident on this forum(the old Rory Gallagher TMP{the meeting place}) in 2005. We started communicating and made arrangements to meet up for Christmas Jam. We were 5 to 15 feet from front center of stage all night(7 pm to after 3 am) and had a great time together, including my brother as well. The next year me and Wayne(Ashevilleian) and my brother(Karl) and Wayne`s son went together. This past year Wayne and his other son went with my son (Dalton) and I. It`s always a good time !!!!! I`ve never got to meet Warren though, but will this year in N.Y.C., as I bought the VIP package for two nights !!!!

Here`s what we get:

Two-Night Beacon Ticket Package includes:

Two (2) Night Beacon Ticket Package - All seats are within the first 10 rows of the orchestra OR in the first 2 rows of the balcony (choose Orchestra or Loge when checking out)
Exclusive Admission to Gov't Mule's Soundcheck at the Beacon Theatre on 12/30
Pre-Party on 12/30 within walking distance of the Beacon Theatre
Private check-in on 12/30 at the pre-party where you will pick up your tickets for both nights
NEW FOR 2011 - PHOTO OPPORTUNITY WITH THE ENTIRE BAND.
Limited Edition Gov't Mule New Years Eve Poster
Limited Edition NYE Run 2011 T-Shirt
Gov't Mule Merchandise Gift
A code to download both shows via Mule Tracks

Two-Night Beacon Ticket Package: $399 per person

Here`s a picture of the 4 of us at Christmas Jam last year(Me in Blue Mule and my son in Allman Brothers shirt):

Take Care, Rick
