Rory's Guitar Sound - Software Modelling

Well, that song she's humming, could make my guitar start strumming?

Rory's Guitar Sound - Software Modelling

Hello to Everyone!,

This is my first post after finding this fantastic resource.

I'm learning to play a few of Rory's songs and wonder if anyone uses software like Amplitude or Guitar Rig to get their guitar sounds rather than pedals and the like ?

Over the weekend I tried to get close to Rory's guitar sound on "Do You Read Me" using software called Guitar Rig 5. I wrote a blog post about it http://learnblues.wordpress.com/2014/02/09/rory-gallagher-guitar-setup-in-guitar-rig/, if you'd care to take a look.

If anyone else uses software to recreate Rory's sounds, or has any comments in general please let me know as I'd like to get the sounds as close as possible.

Best, Chris

Puh! This seems to be complicated.
I thought I one day would be able to at least learn to play some of his riffs, perhaps with some effect-box, but this is obviously complicated.
His sound was very impressive, perhaps the DVD from Montreaux 1979 or 1985 are good examples. It wasn't only an amplifier and the PA sound.
If you could give us further analyses of what amps and effect boxes he used for his sound we will be greatful.
Did he use three amps simultaneously, for example???
