JayJay, noone's trying to, and noone ever will, replace the original!

But I think to spend that much money on getting the guitar as accurate (to get most of it's components correct down to the year is real commitment!) is an amazing tribute to Rory, and will be an absolute beast to play! :P

I agree Rory ...
I know how much vintage Fender Stratocaster's and parts cost £££$$$€€€ I wish I could afford them ..

I was just putting over the fact that no matter how much money Donal was offered for Rory's. He would never sell the battered strat.

PS. If I win the lotto, I'll ask Donal if he will sell it to me :D

its also a great deal of fun and satisfaction making a replica like this, and trying to get it as close to the original as possible!

JayJay, I don't think if every member of this forum won such a cash-prize then pooled it all toghether and asked to buy the strat that Donal would let it go!
I'd imagine Donal would let the shirt off his back go before that guitar.

I can imagine that such a project would be so ufn to do, if I had the spare cash I'd love to start a Rory-strat project.

Jay Jay, I LOVE that pic!!! Gives a good impression of the reverence with which RG's Holy Strat is viewed--white-gloved guards lined up and ready to serve! This is another pic from the same event. I believe it is the arrival of Rory's Strat for an exhibition at Harrod's London a few years back.

Hey Richard, that's a lovely remark " RG's Holy Strat " .. and as Jesus shed his blood sweat and soul out on the holy cross..

Absolutely! Rory Gallagher sure did the same, with a slightly more modified piece of wood, shall we say.

Here's another one of those pic's of Rory I think you'll like :)
