Rory wasn't one for performing / composing any Christmas "pop songs"
Although I don't think he would be totally against the Christmas spirit of other artist who did compose the occasional Tasteful one or two.
Especially artist he was inspired by like this one by Chuck Berry. Rory performed the Chuck Berry song Nadine and others on stage quite a few times in his career.I can imagine Rory rockin out this one and singing when he was a young boy..

Also John saw Taste in the late 60's at the Marquee in London. After the performance he was said to have become a Taste fan :)

I've heard Rory mention Elvis as an inspiration in his younger days also.. Wonder if his Mother Monica was a fan too?

Rory was into the singing cowboys of the old movies, and he does sing a couple lines of this song, so I have added this one, Gene Autry. I bet Rory listened to this when he was a boy- he would have been 1 year old when this one was released:
