EXACTLY what I was looking for!!!
As a songwriter, I would think more mainstream artists would want to cover his tunes!!!

I like the younger (older?) Joe too! More raw envergy!!
He's going to be here (on my birthday) but not sure I will be in town.......
Thanks!! ss

Jacques Stotzem (acoustic fingerstyle guitarist from Belgium) has covered some of Rory's tunes.
On his Catch the Spirit CD he did an arrangement of Moonchild.
And on his latest CD, Catch the Spirit II, he has done arrangements of Tattoo'd Lady and Don't Know Where I'm Going.
He also has some stuff on YouTube of him playing with a female vocalist doing tunes like Keychain and Wayward Child.

Cover versions of Rory's songs?

Postby willie the pimp » 23 Nov 2015, 02:38

Is there a definitive list of bands who have recorded anything of Rory's original stuff (not counting tribute bands)?

Which begs the question, why has'nt there been a Rory "tribute" album like so many other artists have had produced with their songs? I think the suggestion was made long ago of a tribute album featuring Rory's fans, famous or otherwise, like Brian May, Slash, Joe Bonamassa, ect., with the added bonus of them using Rory's own equipment, like The Strat, Tele, ect. Maybe with the proceeds going to a worthwhile charity. As far as Willie the Pimp's question, I know of no list of covers of Rory's songs.

I found a Dutch band called The Juke Joints who have recorded covers of The Loop and Going To My Hometown, but I haven't listened to them yet.
