I wish I had a little help from you. I try to understand what Rory said on Out On The Tiles especially after the solo. Rory has not written in his notes.

How does the sound on CD2 compare to Stage Struck?

Hi Zep81! No worries, this is a gentle place, even when we disagree (well usually!)

Personally, I find the sound on CD2 of NFSF clearer, more "in-your-face". The crowd sound isn't mixed as high as Stage Struck, so you get a bit more of a "front row" feeling. If it were on vinyl, I'd need to buy a second copy already!

Thank you very much :) like i say, im a newbie on Rory atm, just trying to obtain as much as i can (difficult when low on funds lol) ..
but i love Stage Struck and am pleased to hear the SQ is clear and i can look forward to it arriving :D

I have listened to this quite a bit since it's release. This would not make my short list of favorite Rory albums. I think I can see why he canned it, quite literally according to Donal in Ghost Blues. I like it more than Rory did it seems, but it is not a fave!

The live CD is wonderful. I got this yesterday for my birthday, and I am listening to the live CD for the second time. My favorite Rory band is the trio with Gerry McAvoy on bass and Ted McKenna on drums. The studio CD is pretty good, but I probably will not listen to it very often. Peace and goodwill.

Indeed, I can't get enough of it! Takes me back to the days of listening to Stage Struck until it wore out--except it sounds a lot better!

Have sort of re-discovered Notes From San Francisco ,hardly ever played it not realising just how good it is ,Mind you apart from Meeting With The G Man which i have always thought was a bit of a weak album has Rory ever done a bad album?
