Hi Everybody !

I wish I had a little help from you. I try to understand what Rory said on Out On The Tiles especially after the solo. Rory has not written in his notes.

Thanks ! ;)

Hi Pierre,
I hope this helps get there

After 1st guitar solo ..

You ain't talked all night
You spilled ? at your feet
Turn up your radio? and enjoy the heat
Let the temperature rise to 104
Just listen to that sound and you want to hear more

Let's go out on the tiles, start running wild
Have yourself a good time, Go out on the tiles
Go out on the tiles

After 2nd guitar solo

You ain't smiled all night
Your minds on the wrong track
Come on little girl it's time to make a come back
You know it's time that you struck it rich
Well all you got to do is throw that switch

Let's go out on the tiles ...

Real newbie here - be gentle :D

How does the sound on CD2 compare to Stage Struck?

Hi Zep81! No worries, this is a gentle place, even when we disagree (well usually!)

Personally, I find the sound on CD2 of NFSF clearer, more "in-your-face". The crowd sound isn't mixed as high as Stage Struck, so you get a bit more of a "front row" feeling. If it were on vinyl, I'd need to buy a second copy already!

Regards,
Richard

I have listened to this quite a bit since it's release. This would not make my short list of favorite Rory albums. I think I can see why he canned it, quite literally according to Donal in Ghost Blues. I like it more than Rory did it seems, but it is not a fave!

The live CD is wonderful. I got this yesterday for my birthday, and I am listening to the live CD for the second time. My favorite Rory band is the trio with Gerry McAvoy on bass and Ted McKenna on drums. The studio CD is pretty good, but I probably will not listen to it very often. Peace and goodwill.

Indeed, I can't get enough of it! Takes me back to the days of listening to Stage Struck until it wore out--except it sounds a lot better!

Belated happy birthday
