Taste featuring Rory Gallagher "Hail" The Collection.

Who's that calling way out there? I've got your signal loud and clear

Taste featuring Rory Gallagher "Hail" The Collection.

Have just bought this one at our local Asda for only £3 ok most of the tunes i have already, there are live versions of Catfish and Sugar Mama which i suspect may be off the Isle Of Wight album ,a live version of Born On The Wrong Side Of Time
and Gamblin' Blues which i haven't heard before also the title track "Hail" from a live John Peel session. If only for
collectivity well worth £3 for 16 tunes. The disc is unusually on the Universal Spectrum label wheras most of my Rory stuff
(cds)are on Polydor or Capo (Sony BMG) apart from a £1 job entitled Rory Gallagher The First And The Best on the
Membran Gmbh label.

Well done to Vasdis & Asda: nearly 50% cheaper than even Amazon! :o

Am I correct in thinking that the BBC version of Hail (which appears to be the only "new" track, although official confirmation would be welcome) is unreleased elsewhere?

Is there enough unreleased live stuff, from the BBC or elsewhere, to warrant another new Taste release (even as a budget priced EP)?

Sainsbury's have the Best Of Taste on the Polydor label at £3,more of a best of the first 2 studio albums ok for a new fan
who wants to hear a variety of Taste tunes.
The trouble with Amazon is that the P&P always seems expensive (to me anyway)
I wish i could afford the new 4 cd set mind you Let's Go To Work was up at £29 and i got it for £12.
I will have to hold fire for a while as along with this Taste disc i have recently bought Martin Turners new album
and one by Steve Marriot and the Allstars.

Most of (all of?) the BBC recordings of Taste have been wiped, this is why the BBC In Concert material on the I'll Remember release sounds so battered. There is more material in circulation ("Top Gear Sessions") but I doubt it will be released unless the track down a decent copy.

Does not seem that way to me NNR... I've playing this title track from this compilation Taste album. John Peel from the BBC introduces it.

Excellent mixture of studio & live tracks compilation album btw.. for all Taste-rs :)
