Great pick Bibi. That is an epic opening to this classic. I enjoy his choice of opening riffs in later years. some of his very best i believe.

I was at Pistoa, 2 / 7 / 1994 and for those forum members that aren't on facebook here's the post I've written on the Rory Gallagher Page

-----------
At Pistoia, my last Rory gig live.
On those days I was working near Milan and some colleagues and I drove to the Pistoia Blues Festival, That hot summer night the piazza was packed and the concert was absolutely amazing but I felt he was not well his voice sounded more hoarse and sad than I remembered, hadn't seen him live since 86, but his playing was superb.
To me this concert was a turmoil of feelings "I wonder who" chilled my spine, hear the flamenco riffs in the intro for "Tattoo Lady" made feel proud as spaniard that my musical heritage influenced such an artist as Rory Gallagher and when he played "La Bamba" everybody began to dance and making me smile with his special version of the lyrics, but who cares it when we enjoyed it so much.

I don't how but I managed to get to the soundboard and gave a note for Rory to the sound engineer, he kindly asked me if I wanted give it personally but I declined the invitation because, honestly, I thought that Rory would be exhausted and really needed a rest.

Unfortunately a few months later Rory left us, but his presence and music will remain forever for those of us who were lucky enough to attend any of his gigs and for the new ones that are getting introduced to his music through his records and videos.
