Cork was the 2005 European Capital of Culture and I bought a nice book edited for the occasion, showing how continental europeans through the centuries saw the town, and among the stories there's one which directly links Cork and Rory Gallagher, written by an spanish lecturer.
The whole book is very interesting, although some chapters are only excerpts from travel diaries or documents and poetry.
For us, the spaniards growing on the 70's / 80's, Rory Gallagher is a capital musical influence to such an extent that one of most popular rock guitarist states that he bought the first ticket for Madrid 1975, he couldn't attend the one at 74 due to the (by then mandatory) military service and permission to leave was denied, imagine this poor lad frustation ...
